  • 외국어 학습은 얼마나 효과적으로 자기 의사를 표현하느냐(output)의 정도로 그 완성도를 가늠할 수 있습니다. 효과적인 글쓰기/말하기는 의사 소통의 필수사항으로서 개인의 언어구사력을 측정하는 바로미터입니다. Habit 9은 미국 동급학년 수준의 글쓰기/말하기 수준을 지향합니다. WESEE 프로그램은 전 학년이 writing/speaking을 영어학습의 기본으로 삼는 Habit 9의 교육이념을 상징합니다. 모든 수업이 끊임없는 쓰기, 말하기로 진행되며 과제의 상당 부분도 이 부분의 향상을 위해 할애됩니다. 이 프로그램은 전 학년에 걸쳐 유기적으로 연결되어 활용됩니다.
  • Habit 9 cherishes the value of speaking and writing skills. The level of English proficiency can be precisely measured by the level of one’s speaking and writing skill. Most of the programs in Habit 9 are based on speaking and writing, and focus on enhancing students’ speaking and writing competence. Students need to speak and write all the way during each class. The majority part of everyday homework consists of speaking and writing, too. With the help of speaking and writing system organically connected through all the grades, Habit 9 students learn to communicate with ease and comfort using their spoken and written capabilities.

  • Habit 9은 어린 학년의 학생들에게 과도한 학습부담을 주기보다는 지적 성장과 창의력을 키울 수 있는 환경을 조성하고자 합니다. 이에 따라 즐거운 학습환경 속에서 자신감 있게 자신의 영어실력을 표출하고 열의를 가지고 학업에 임할 수 있도록 도와 줍니다. 교사는 다양하게 준비된 주도 면밀한 커리큘럼을 통해 학생들에게 동기부여를 함으로써 자기주도적인 학습을 유도합니다.
  • Habit 9 seeks to provide its students with a nurturing and stimulating environment in which they would be able to develop their intellectual and creative capacities to the fullest. Our aim is to provide students in Grades 3 to 4 with an enjoyable learning experience not only by assisting them to come into a confident possession of their skills in English, but also by equipping them with the ability to meet any academic challenge with enthusiasm. We strive to motivate our students through our rigorous and diversified curriculum, which we believe would allow them to become active and confident thinkers.
5th ~ 6th Grade
  • 이 시기의 학생들은 자신의 미래에 대해 생각하고 성공의 개념에 대해 인식하기 시작하므로, 가장 동기부여의 필요성이 강하게 요구되는 중요한 시기라고 할 수 있습니다. 따라서 공부 자체에 너무 매몰되지 않고 균형 잡힌 시각을 형성하도록 해주어야 합니다. Habit 9은 영어의 4대 영역 (읽기, 듣기, 쓰기, 말하기)의 실력을 심화하는 동시에 효율적으로 공부하는 습관을 익히도록 합니다. 이를 통해 중학교에 진학하여 영어 뿐 아니라 타과목에서도 좋은 성과를 내는 기반이 마련됩니다.
  • Habit 9 believes that each student is an individual with a need to succeed; all students ought to become active builders of their future. We believe that Grades 5 to 6 is a critical period in which students will begin to recognize this end, and so we seek to provide our students with a well-balanced curriculum. They will attain skills beyond the basic capabilities of reading, listening, writing and speaking in English, and will also be prepared to excel in any academic challenges in middle school. At this time, they will learn to strengthen their study skills through engaging learning environment that will assist in their preparation to become academically successful students.

7th ~ 9th Grade
  • 십대 중반에 접어들면서 어학습득은 거의 완성기에 이르게 됩니다. 상급학교 진학과 장래 직업에 대한 청사진도 구체적으로 완성되는 시기입니다. Habit 9 재원생들은 능숙한 영어토론과 발표, 정교하고 깊이 있는 작문실력으로 자기 의사를 효과적으로 표현하고, 어떠한 수준의 독해, 청해 지문도 명확히 이해할 수 있는 영어실력에 도달하게 됩니다. 고등학교 진학에 필요한 우수한 내신성적을 확보할 수 있도록 지원하고, 특목고 지망생들에게는 “전원합격 프로젝트”(진학상담, 자기 소개서 첨삭, 면접훈련)라는 입시 컨설팅을 시행하여 뛰어난 성과를 얻고 있습니다. 중3까지의 과정을 마친 재원생들은 사실상 대학입시에 필요한 영어준비를 마치고, 고교 진학 후에 타과목에 전념할 수 있는 고지를 점합니다.
  • Students reach almost full acquisition of English in their midteens. At this age, they also complete their blueprints of which schools of higher grade to go to, and even of what career to pursue. Habit 9 students shall be able to express their thoughts in sophisticated writing as well as participate skillfully in various forms of debates and presentations. For those who plan to go to special high schools, experts’ counseling will always be at hand. The graduates of Habit 9 middle school program will have completed their preparation for university admissions in English subject, and can take advantageous positions to concentrate their time and energy to other subjects.

  • 방학 중 또는 학기 중에 학생 개인의 필요에 따른 맞춤식 학습 프로그램을 제공합니다. 개인적으로 보다 빠른 향상을 이루고 싶거나 특정한 행사(대회, 입학, 자격증)를 준비하는 경우, 단기간에 걸쳐 집중 지도하는 프로그램입니 다. 예를 들어, 방학 기간을 이용하여 문법의 전체 내용을 학습할 경우, 평소 에는 감지하지 못했던 개별 문법사항들간의 연결고리를 파악하고 머리 속에 문법 전체에 걸친 틀을 형성할 수 있게 됩니다. 특정한 대회에 출전하는 경우, 출전 학생들끼리 팀을 구성하여 그 대회의 규칙에 맞는 훈련을 하기도 합니다. TOEFL, TEPS와 같은 공인시험 고득점을 위한 단기 특강도 마련됩니다.
  • Each student sometimes needs a customized program for a special purpose during the vacation or in the middle of the semester. For a short period of time, intensive learning for faster achievement in a specific area or preparation for a specific event will be provided. For example, the grammar courses during the vacation period enable students to get a bigger picture of the whole grammar system and catch the interlink between each section of grammar. For those who want better performance in a specific contest or a standardized test (TOEFL, TEPS), specialized training will also be offered.
